ARC Detection Group Launches In Scotland As New Security Technology Provider Ahead Of Martyn’s Law

High-tech metal detectors will help protect larger entertainment locations, arenas, night clubs, ports, corporate events and local authority venues.

ARC Detection Group, a new security technology consortium formed by Scottish industry veterans with more than one hundred years of combined experience, has officially launched in response to the forthcoming introduction of Martyn’s Law, formally known as the Terrorism Protection of Premises Act 2025.

Martyn’s Law is named in honour of Martyn Hett, who was one of the 22 victims killed in the 2017 Manchester Arena terrorist attack and was championed by his mother, Figen Murray, to improve security at public venues.

ARC will operate across Scotland as a major re-seller to larger venues of leading electromagnetic metal detectors manufacturer CEIA’s walkthrough metal detectors, scanning systems and advanced Opengate threat detection technologies, a range of which are on display in the company’s showrooms.

The consortium behind ARC Detection Group comprises highly experienced Scottish professionals who have worked across major events, policing liaison, military‑linked environments and international venues.

Mark Ward, of ARC Detection Group, said: “Martyn’s Law will transform how venues and organisations think about safety.

“We have created ARC Detection Group as a response to the impact of Ms Murray’s achievement on our stakeholders, and their collective determination, as events producers, promoters, band managers and live event executives, to ensure Scotland’s larger venues have direct access to world‑class screening technology and trusted experience.

“Our goal is simple. We want every venue, from arenas to night clubs, to be safer for the public and especially for the younger generations who attend events regularly.

“Collectively, the ARC team has many, many years of expertise in events, security and risk management. Most now have grandchildren attending concerts and festivals, making their commitment to public safety both personal and professional.”

ARC Detection Group Ltd Launches in Scotland

The Bishopbriggs-based company’s showroom is set to host live demonstrations and product showcases, including its instant ‘walk thru’ proven multi entry scanners capable of recognising ballistic and explosive materials while audience members retain their bags or

backpacks to speed up entry times, which can be viewed and demonstrated by appointment.

Mr Ward added: “Such live event experiences are not, to our knowledge, available anywhere else in Scotland, while our ability to supply scanners and experienced staff within tight timescales and on competitive rental terms makes our offering highly attractive.

ARC Detection Group will support a wide range of sectors including entertainment venues, arenas, night‑time economy businesses, museums, major manufacturers, ports and marinas, corporate event agencies and Scottish local authority premises.

Martyn’s Law received Royal Assent in April 2025 and enters a minimum 24‑month implementation period before enforcement begins.

ARC Detection Group will work closely with venues to help them understand the new requirements, provide world-leading screening systems and support compliance planning across Scotland.
