The Bruker Road Runner is a mobile hand held device capable of detecting Narcotics, explosive materials and homemade explosives, this instrument offers two sampling modes, sniff mode for vapours and direct sampling of particles or droplets with swipes and subsequent desorption.

The Road Runner detector operates on the principle of ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) with a non-radioactive ionization source and internal calibration procedures and has been designed for detection of narcotics and explosives on surfaces and in air.
